Anita Gaddy, Orthodontic Assistant
When asked to describe what she does, Anita says, “I assist both Dr. Drake and Dr. Voto in making crooked teeth into beautiful smiles!” With 12 years in dentistry and four years at Drake and Voto, Anita has turned many a crooked smile straight, enriching the lives of countless patients.
Anita never stops learning how to better care for patients. She graduated from the Tulsa Technology Center dental assisting program in 2000, and she’s currently taking classes at Tulsa Community College. A natural-born tooth care fanatic, she loves educating patients on oral health and sees her job as a daily adventure. Her coworkers are her best friends, and she finds it inspiring how much Drs. Drake and Voto care about their patients.
Anita’s caring heart spills over from the practice into her community involvement. She volunteers with Neighbor for Neighbor, a Tulsa non-profit that helps low income, unemployed, uninsured, impoverished and handicapped members of the community. She also assisted at the 2010 Oklahoma Mission of Mercy. She loves Dave Matthews Band and going to music festivals when she has the time.
Mary Anderson, Hygiene Coordinator
Dentists recommend hygiene visits every six months, which can make the dental office kind of hectic with all the scheduling and insurance coordination. She also helps with billing. Luckily for Drake and Voto, Mary Anderson is a wiz at putting it all together and making sure patients get the care they need. With over 16 years in the dental profession, Mary combines experience and a helpful attitude in everything she does.
Mary attended the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. Mary describes the team at Drake and Voto as committed to serving the patients and willing to go the extra mile—no questions asked. She sees oral hygiene as being essential for total health and wellness, and she loves helping patients reach optimum health.
Mary finds this quote from William Ward especially inspiring: “Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you invest, investigate. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you retire, save. Before you die, give.”
Gena Smithee, Registered Dental Hygienist
If there’s anything that Gena Smithee is passionate about, it’s oral health care. She loves helping patients maintain healthy mouths as a dental hygienist, and she sees this as the most important aspect of her job. Armed with her associates in applied science of dental hygiene and Laser Certified Anxiston, and her desire to be of service, Gena has been helping patients at Drake and Voto have beautiful, healthy smiles since 2008.
Her favorite thing about Drake and Voto is the state of the art technology. Her friendly nature makes patients feel at home, and she uses her detail-oriented style to scope out even the tiniest of oral health issues. And that's what patients want to hear when they’re entrusting someone with their dental care!
She spends time with her husband J.R. and son Wyatt, and she loves a good game of Bunco once-a-month with her classmates from dental hygiene school. Her favorite celebrity smile belongs to Jennifer Anniston.
Heidi Reddick, Registered Dental Hygienist
Heidi Reddick has been helping keep Drake and Voto patients’ mouths healthy since 2007. She helps patients keep their teeth and gums healthy with regular oral hygiene treatments and education about oral health care. On top of having her associates in applied science of dental hygiene, she is laser certified.
Being laser certified, Heidi knows a thing or two about the importance of technology in dental care. She loves that Drake and Voto stays up-to-date on the latest innovations. Beyond technology, though, she believes that a caring attitude is what matters most, and she takes the time to communicate with patients about their needs and concerns. Her favorite celebrity smile belongs to Julia Roberts.
When not working, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband, Keve, and their favorite lil' man, Easton!
Jennifer Lopez, Registered Dental Hygienist
Implementing oral health care through education and hygiene visits is what Jennifer Lopez does best. In her eight years with the practice, she’s given patients the tools they need to keep healthy teeth and happy gums. She has her associates in applied science of dental hygiene and is laser certified.
According to Jennifer, the Drs. Drake and Voto have created a wonderful office equipped with the latest technology to take excellent care of patients, and this makes her happy because she loves her patients! A self-described “true dental geek”, she takes great pride in knowing that she makes a difference in people’s oral health.
Her favorite quote: “Life is too short to wake up with regrets. Love the people who treat you right. Forget the ones who don’t. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy. They just promised it would be worth it.”
